Welcome to Bournemouth’s ‘cathedral choir’
St. Peter’s Choral Foundation is an exciting new project launched in 2021 to establish a cathedral-type choir in the heart of Bournemouth. It builds on 150 years of musical excellence at St. Peter’s, Bournemouth’s parish church.
Our choirs
Choristers
Thursdays and some Sundays
Open to girls aged 11 to 18 . Entry by audition. Music-reading and some basic sight-reading experience is helpful. Love of singing is very important!
Lay Clerks
Sundays
Paid roles for trained SATB adult singers with extensive choral experience and good sight-reading skills. By application including audition.
Parish Choir
Thursdays and some Sundays
For SATB adult singers with previous choral experience and some basic music-reading ability. Entry by simple audition.
Song Squad
Coming in September!
For boys and girls aged 7 to 13. No audition or previous experience needed. Learn to sing and make new friends! Book a place today.

Song Squad music leader vacancy
We’re seeking a talented leader of children’s voices to launch our new open-access children’s choir, Song Squad. You’ll be working with young voices from across BCP, encouraging them to discover their musicianship and inspiring a love of singing.
You should have plenty of experience working with young people, underpinned with sound musical knowledge and singing ability.

Tenor Lay Clerk vacancy
We currently have a vacancy for a Second Tenor lay clerk to complete our permanent appointments. If you are a good tenor with strong sight-reading skills, this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
