St. Peter’s Choral Foundation is an exciting new project launched in 2021 to establish a cathedral-type choir in the heart of Bournemouth. It builds on 150 years of musical excellence at St. Peter’s, Bournemouth’s parish church.

Choristers
Thursdays and some Sundays
Open to girls aged 11 to 18 . Entry by audition. Music-reading and some basic sight-reading experience is helpful. Love of singing is very important!
Lay Clerks
Sundays
Paid roles for trained SATB adult singers with extensive choral experience and good sight-reading skills. By application including audition.
Parish Choir
Thursdays and some Sundays
For SATB adult singers with previous choral experience and some basic music-reading ability. Entry by simple audition.
Song Squad
Coming in September!
For boys and girls aged 7 to 13. No audition or previous experience needed. Learn to sing and make new friends! Book a place today.

Current auditions and vacancies
Song Squad music leader vacancy
We’re seeking a talented leader of children’s voices to launch our new open-access children’s choir, Song Squad. You’ll be working with young voices from across BCP, encouraging them to discover their musicianship and inspiring a love of singing.
You should have plenty of experience working with young people, underpinned with sound musical knowledge and singing ability.

Choristerships (Year 5 to Year 13)
We have a few choristerships available for girls aged 10-18 (Years 5 to 13). Previous music experience is important – we’re pleased to hear about children who sing in their school choirs, have music lessons, or have taken music exams – but we are looking for potential rather than a polished voice.
If your daughter loves music and singing, this could well be ideal for her.

Choral Scholarships (18+)
Available September 2026, we have three brand new choral scholarships for students on gap years or living and studying in Bournemouth or Poole.
Successful candidates will be offered free accommodation in Bournemouth town centre. The commitment consists of a Thursday evening service, a Sunday morning service singing with our lay clerks, and involvement with the running of the music department (including admin, working with choristers, outreach).
